Andrea Quinlan is a writer and performer based in Christchurch, New Zealand. She is the author of the poetry chapbooks We Speak Girl (Dancing Girl Press, 2012), The Mysteries of Laura (Birds of Lace, 2013) and I Wear My Heart on My Sleeve (Dancing Girl Press, 2016).
She writes and edits Pastel Zine which is an online independent music zine featuring interviews with both New Zealand and International artists and a blog.
She is the author of the plays Visitors, The Wonderful Miss Ward and Who Is Sylvia? Visitors and The Wonderful Miss Ward were part of a reading and workshop with the Canterbury Playwright's Circle (facilitated by NO Productions Theatre) in April 2018. The Wonderful Miss Ward was staged as part of Elmwood Players' Matariki season of one act plays from 8-11 August 2018 at the Elmwood Auditorium. Who Is Sylvia? was staged as part of Riccarton Players’ Stubbies season of one act plays from 25-27 July 2019 at The Drama Theatre, Rangi Ruru.
She enjoys acting and directing and is involved with local community theatre both behind the scenes and onstage - mainly with Elmwood Players.
